This training is our follow-up training to the "Sophos Certified Engineer - Firewall"), which has been expanded to include important content. This training includes the following components:
- ALL content of the former Engineer training
- PLUS more content from us (practical knowledge, debugging, etc.)
- PLUS extensive practical exercises using a dedicated practice environment
The training serves to create an initial basic understanding of the technical possibilities and applications of the Sophos (XG/XGS) firewall. Basic configurations are carried out and the common functions are used. The trainers incorporate their experience of individual setups and teach you the basics of using the new Sophos firewall. The design and implementation of a simple environment and the appropriate dimensioning are part of the training. After completing the seminar, you will have mastered the basic configurations of the firewall in all functional areas - participants from system houses that are Sophos partners will also be able to successfully pass the Sophos Certified Engineer - Firewall exam at the end of the training.

Prerequisites & recommendations
In order to achieve the best possible training success, the knowledge described below is the recommended prerequisite for a successful attendance of the training:
- The training can be booked for both end customers and Sophos partners
- Knowledge of current standards in the security industry
- Practical knowledge of networking, subnetting, VLANs
- Basic technical understanding of WLAN, e-mail, web proxy, VPN and encryption
- Experience in configuration and administration of Windows and Linux systems
- Confidence in the use and troubleshooting of TCP/IP basics

- To participate in the training you need your own notebook
